Swimming
Every Wednesday starting on the 18th of September. Please see below for more details.

Swimming
During Term 1 of Year 5, each child in Year 5 will have a chance to attend swimming lessons at Barley Close swimming pool. These will take place every Wednesday starting on Wednesday 18th September for four weeks - 18/09/24; 25/09/24; 02/10/24; 09/10/24.
Each class will be split into two groups of 15. Each group will have one hour at the swimming pool.
The children will be taken to the pool and returned to school by coach.
Please note that due to illness and other unforeseen circumstances, there have been occasions when coaches have been cancelled at short notice. Unfortunately, this is out of our control and we are sadly unable to provide additional sessions.
Girls will need:
- A swimming costume (no bikini or tankini)
- A towel
- A hairband to tie up long hair. Swimming hat is optional.*
Girls may not wish to wear tights on swimming days as they can be difficult to pull up.
Boys will need:
- Swimming trunks or shorts for boys (no shorts below their knees)
- A towel.
Children are allowed to bring goggles to wear during the session. However, they must be clear so that the instructor can see your child’s eyes: no black/dark/hologram lenses please.
