Year 2 Home Learning
This page will continually be updated, please check it regularly.
Due to the government's decision to close schools from Tuesday 5th January 2021, most children will be learning from home until further notice. We have put together a strategy to support and guide you through this difficult time. We will set tasks for children to complete at home and be available online daily Monday to Friday via our web page and Class Dojo to support you. Please read our information letter and get in touch. We are committed to ensuring that each individual family has a home learning strategy that works for them and will work with you to achieve this.

Term 4 - Week 1 Timetable

Below we have added a timetable for you to use to help keep track of what work your child is able to access and what learning they are achieving at home.
Please can you use the grid by either ticking, initialing or you can fill it in in more detail. Please can you return a photo message of the grid to your class teacher on a Friday. This will also allow the teachers to keep track of learning taking place as well as listening to your comments about the learning.
Please keep in contact with us weekly and please give us feedback in how we can support you all further. Thank you for doing an amazing job, keep safe and well plus try to make learning fun!

Reading
Please continue to read your child's reading book with them at home.
Read the same book 3 times:
- 1st read to practise phonics
- 2nd read to check comprehension
- 3rd read for fluency and expression
Once they have completed their book and they are reading it confidently, please look at the free ebooks online.
Oxford Owl are offering free ebooks for children to access at home. You will need to follow the link and register as a parent.
There are a few Read, Write, Inc books for your child to read, but also plenty of Oxford Reading Tree or project X books which are suitable too.
Search for any ebooks in age 5-6 or 6-7 to find books your child is comfortable to read.
Also, read other books at home with your child. Reading to your child is very important too.
